LibreOffice 6.1: Free, Open Source, and Highly Efficient

LibreOffice 6.1 includes two new icon themes: Colibre, which is now the default theme on Windows, and Karasa Jaga. Additionally, image management has been improved, making the software faster and more responsive, while new fill gradients, help files, and interface translations make it the best free LibreOffice software of all time.

Advanced Word Processing

The EPUB export filter in Writer has been improved, allowing you to create eBooks from your documents. In the header and footer menus, new options enable you to quickly add page numbers and page counters, while new chapter numbering styles, which define cardinal and ordinal numbers, are now available. Finally, it is now possible to generate a signature line using Insert > Signature Line.

Take Your Spreadsheets Further

In Calc, images anchored to cells can now be sorted. Additionally, there are now three types of anchoring: in a cell, as usual; in a cell with resizing when the cell size changes; and to a page. When linking a sheet to external data, CSV files can now be used as data sources. Moreover, the options dialog allows you to customize cell highlight colors.

Presentations and Original Drawings

In Impress and Draw, new drawing styles have been added, while existing styles have been refined. Additionally, the menu in Draw has been reorganized to be more intuitive, and a new page menu has been added.

LibreOffice Online - Your Office Suite, Anywhere

In LibreOffice Online, the cloud version of the suite, many new dialog boxes have been added, including for spelling and grammar, cell formatting, and area filling. In Calc, it is now possible to collapse or expand a group of columns or rows with a single click. Finally, performance and security have also been enhanced.
