Download LibreOffice 7.6 Community: The Free Office Suite

LibreOffice 7.6 Community, the new major version of the free office suite supported by volunteers, is now available for download for Windows (Intel/AMD and ARM processors), macOS (Apple and Intel processors), and Linux. This version marks the end of the historical version numbering, transitioning to a calendar-based numbering system starting in 2024. The next major version will be LibreOffice 24.2 in February 2024.

This release includes improvements across the main LibreOffice applications. Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw receive changes designed to make common document tasks clearer, from page numbers and pivot tables to slide navigation and PDF annotation handling.

Introduction to LibreOffice and Thunderbird

LibreOffice and Thunderbird are two highly regarded free and open-source software applications used by many. Although LibreOffice does not come with a built-in email client, there are numerous free and open-source email clients that work seamlessly alongside this office suite. Thunderbird, a project affiliated with Mozilla's Firefox web browser, is one of the most well-known examples.

Improving LibreOffice and Thunderbird integration can make everyday work easier for users who write documents, manage email, prepare files, organize meetings, or exchange office documents with contacts. The ideas below focus on practical improvements mentioned by users, while keeping both applications useful in their own roles.

The Document Foundation announces the release of LibreOffice 7.5.4 Community, the fourth minor version in the 7.5 line of LibreOffice, the free office suite supported by volunteers. This new version is available for download for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. LibreOffice also offers products based on its technology for mobile platforms (Android and iOS) as well as for the cloud.

LibreOffice 7.5.4 Community is intended for users who want a free office suite for everyday documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, databases, and formulas. The Community edition is supported by the volunteer community, while dedicated enterprise offerings are available separately through ecosystem partners.

In 2022, the LibreOffice documentation community continued to update the guides and help application for LibreOffice.

Throughout the year, the documentation project bridged the gap between major releases of LibreOffice and updates to the corresponding guides. By the end of the year, all guides for version 7 had been updated to align with LibreOffice version 7.4, and they are ready for the next release, version 7.5.

These updates help users find clearer information about LibreOffice features, guides, Help content and the ScriptForge macro library. They also make the documentation easier to use for online reading, offline reading and everyday support needs.
